LeadHER Lab

LeadHER Lab is a four-session leadership experience designed for girls ages 12–14. The program focuses on building confidence, communication skills, empathy, and leadership through interactive activities, small group discussions, and real-world connections with women leaders in the community.

LeadHER Lab is designed specifically for middle school girls (ages 12–14) who want to grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment.

Middle school is a critical time for building confidence and identity. LeadHER Lab provides a supportive space where girls are encouraged to step into who they are, build meaningful connections, and gain skills that will benefit them both now and in the future.

Dates: June 9, June 16, July 7, July 14

Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Location: Ivy Tech Community College Moravec Hall

Participants will:

• Build confidence and better understand their strengths

• Learn how to communicate clearly and speak up

• Develop empathy and stronger relationship skills

• Practice leadership by taking action in real-life situations

Each session includes:

• Networking strategies

• Asking for what you want

• Interactive activities and hands-on learning

• Small group discussions

• Leadership skill-building exercises

• Time to connect with peers and mentors

Sessions are designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and encouraging—not lecture-based.

Yes. All sessions are led by experienced facilitators and supported by adult leaders to ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment for all participants.

Throughout the program, girls will meet local women leaders from a variety of backgrounds who will share their experiences, offer guidance, and serve as positive role models.

We strongly encourage attendance at all four sessions, as each one builds on the next. However, we understand summer schedules can vary.

• A notebook or journal (optional but encouraged)

• A positive attitude and willingness to participate

All other materials, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

The registration cost is $40 and includes all materials, snacks, and drinks for all sessions.
